Wait a few more days before planting the Dahlia bulbsso that the floor can settle.
Cover the ground in severe night frosts
If you expect strong night frosts again, you should protect the planting areas with a blanket of straw or leaves.
During the day, however, you should always remove the blanket so that the sun can warm the earth better to make the dahlias drift.
Preferred dahlias may only be planted at the end of May
Dahlias or georgines can be in the pot in the house prefer.
Dahlias for the balcony can go outside earlier. If it does get cold again, the pot can simply be moved to a protected place.
Only the stems and leaves are at risk from frost. If the dahlia has already sprouted strongly, you must protect these parts of the plant from freezing.
Tips & Tricks
If you can't wait for the first dahlia flowers to beautify the garden, soak the tubers before planting them out. Get them out two days before the planned planting date Winter quarters and put them in a bowl of lukewarm water.
