Which flowers are suitable?

In principle, you can press and dry all flowers. However, treating flat flowers is like violet, Margharites or lavender easier. Globular flowers or those with numerous leaves such as roses are a little more difficult to preserve. In addition to a sure instinct, you need a little patience with these, as it can take up to two weeks for them to dry completely.

Press flowers with books

For this you need:

  • Flowers and leaves,
  • books that are as big and heavy as possible,
  • Parchment paper,
  • Things to complain about.

Method:

  1. Open the book roughly in the middle.
  2. Place the paper on the right side of the book.
  3. Distribute the flowers so that they do not touch each other.
  4. Cover the flowers with parchment paper.
  5. Close the book and put it in a warm place.
  6. Weight down with other books or heavy objects such as tin cans.
  7. Let it dry for about a week. During this time, change the paper lying on the flowers regularly. This removes the moisture that has escaped and prevents the formation of mold.

  1. Remove the cardboard bottom from the press and cover with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange flowers on top so that they don't touch.
  3. Lay on paper and put it in the press so that all edges are flush.
  4. Place the wooden board over it and tighten the screws so that the boards are pressed together firmly.
  5. Put in a warm place for about a week.
  6. Replace the top layer of paper after 3 days at the latest.
  7. The flowers are dry when they separate from the lower paper by themselves.
