The right time
Dahlias are not winter-proof and should be removed from the ground and stored every autumn. The optimal time for this measure has come after the first night frost. Choose a dry day for digging. This makes it easier to get the rhizome out of the ground and remove the substrate more easily.

Get tubers out of the ground
Cut off the above-ground parts of the plants that have dried up dahlia leaving about four inches. Carefully loosen the soil by wrapping it around the tuber with a Digging fork to edit. In this way you prevent the storage organs from being damaged when excavating. If any of the specimens are damaged, remove them. The measure prevents the growth of mold.
Storage

Place the planter in a place where there are cool but frost-free conditions. Simply cut off the plant material ten centimeters above the substrate so that the plant will sprout again at this point.

Allow the rhizome tubers to germinate indoors in April. After the ice saints, they come back to the bed. In this way, they develop their floral splendor earlier.
