Preparations for the plantings
In August or September the gardener starts preparing for spring. Now is exactly the right time to plant the bulbous plants. In this way, the onions can form sufficient roots before the frosts in winter.
Even shrubs that bloom early now belong in the ground so that they can take root and sprout well in spring.

Some tips for preparation:
- Early flowering bulbs like crumbly soil, so loosen soil before planting.
- remove weeds
- The tip of the onion is facing up.
- The earth must not be too wet, possibly mix in sand.
- Don't forget to water it after planting.

Early bloomers can be grown outdoors or in pots.
Tub planting
The tubs are filled with good potting soil and placed on one against the frost Styrofoam plate(€ 43.00 at Amazon *) posed. Taking into account the correct planting depth (usually stated on the packaging), the bulbs are placed in the soil. A brush cover serves as frost protection from above.
Outdoor planting
The procedure here is similar to that for planting pots, except that a vole basket can be used when digging the planting hole (about 15 cm deep). It protects the onions from damage caused by eating. Put a 2 cm thick layer of sand in the basket and put the onions on top. Finally, they are covered with earth and poured on.
