Check material beforehand

There is no visual difference, but not every zinc tub is actually made from zinc. Those models are actually made of iron, which is only coated with a galvanized layer. You can recognize the dummy in rusty places. In this case, you must not use any abrasives, as these stick to the material damage add. Even “harmless” home remedies such as vinegar or citric acid dissolve the protective layer. In the case of galvanized iron, this does not form anew. If you don't scrub the layer too hard on a real zinc tub, with a bit of luck the material will repair itself.

  4. Clean the tub with the cloth.

  6. Special cleaners have proven their worth for limescale deposits.
  7. Then rinse the tub with water.
  8. Dry the tub with a cloth.
  9. By letting the tub sit in the air, you encourage the formation of a new, protective oxide layer.

Note: Never use aggressive cleaning agents that contain chemical substances. In particular, if you use your zinc tub as a mini biotope, the residents will suffer a great deal of damage.
