Inhibit growth
Some types of hot peppers have a naturally high growth rate. This could be a nuisance at some point, especially when keeping the bucket. Regular pruning will keep your peppers the size you want.
The second harvest
If you were able to bring in an abundant yield in June, it is worthwhile to trim the peppers. There is a high probability that new flowers will soon form, so that you can harvest delicious fruit again in autumn.
Length and technique of cutting a pepperoni
Cutting length
It is recommended to shorten the pepperoni shoots to about 3 cm in length. Removing the side shoots, so-called pruning, is not recommended for hot peppers. Instead, you should choose a height of 30 cm as a guideline in order to cut back the plant. Experience has shown that it then shows a bushier growth and rewards you with a higher harvest yield.

Put the Secateurs above a growth node. Thus, you only remove the leaves, but do not cause any serious damage to the plant.
A special method of promoting the growth of a pepperoni is to separate the royal flower. This is the first flower to appear. If you cap these off, the plant can put more energy into overall growth instead of blooming.
The pruning before and after winter
Both the pruning after the harvest in late autumn and a caring topiary after wintering are recommended. Again, cut off all the shoots above the first knot of a branch. In addition, remove any branches and leaves that have turned yellow over the winter.
