Potting soil

Normal Potting soil is not 100% suitable for this tropical plant. But it is a good basis. Enhance them with loose material. The easiest way is to use something more commercially available Orchid soil.

Planting

  1. In the first step, carefully separate the offshoot from the mother plant. If necessary, take them out of the pot beforehand.
  2. Fill a small saucepan with the prepared soil mixture.
  3. Plant the offshoot in it. If you have several offshoots, give each offshoot its own pot.
  4. Cover the plant with a large glass or alternatively with translucent foil.
  5. Put the pot in partial shade and warm. It is ideal if the temperature is at least 25 ° C. The plant must not be exposed to direct sunlight.

care

to water Be cautious about the young plant after planting it. Your roots shouldn't be too wet. She can also get some fertilizer, but in a small dose and only together with irrigation water.

Only after about four months is the young plant well rooted and ripe enough to be in the care to be treated like a full blown Guzmania. However, you will have to be patient for about two years before flowering. At that time, the new Guzmania will drive out Kindel itself, knowing that its end will soon be near.
