Choice of dates and division in the bed - that's what matters

With good care Sage develops a mighty stature after 3 to 4 years. At that time, the herb plant has largely depleted the soil. or Algae lime for excavation. Plant the sage as deep as it was before and water it.

Divide the sage in the pot if necessary

Sage thrives on the balcony, due to its vigor, division can be considered after 1 to 2 years. At the latest when the roots grow out of the opening in the ground, the herb plant is repotted.   • Pour in a fresh herb soil, compost and sand mixture up to half the height
  • Insert one of the sage pieces and pour on

Root growth is accelerated if a plastic bag or transparent hood is put over the bucket for 2-3 weeks. Regular watering is mandatory during this phase so that the roots can spread quickly.

Tips & Tricks

Ornamental sage (Salvia nemorosa) is a wonderful pasture for bees and butterflies in the cottage garden. If you prune close to the ground after the first flowering, the enchanting perennial will develop a second flowering period after 5-7 weeks.
