How big will the cinnamon roll?
The cinnamon, also known as Scheineller, is one of the ornamental shrubs and is around two to three meters tall where it feels good. It is a genus of plants with around 80 different species. These also include smaller varieties that reach a height of around 1.50 m and dwarf varieties that reach a maximum size of 40 or 50 cm.

When should I prune the cinnamon?
If you have planted one of the larger varieties of cinnamon in the shade, prune the plant from time to time so that it does not burn off on the ground. Small varieties do not need pruning at all.
If the shrub grows very luxuriantly, you can thin it out a little in spring, if it becomes too big for you, then you can prune it carefully. But don't cut too radically, otherwise the flower will suffer. You should only take a radical cut if you really want to rejuvenate the cinnamon.
Does the cinnamon need a special place in the garden?
The cinnamon is quite easy to care for, but has some demands on its location. If possible, this should be partially shaded and moist and rather acidic. Ideally, the pH of the soil is between 4.5 and 7. With a test set from the hardware store or gardening specialist, you can easily determine the pH value yourself and, if necessary, prepare the soil with the appropriate fertilizer.
The cinnamon can be combined well with other plants. Make sure, however, that these do not have a strong scent. Even if the individual plants smell pleasant, a combination can easily turn into the opposite. By the way, insects also like cinnamon, it is considered excellent Bee pasture.
The essentials in brief:
- no regular pruning required
- Prune large shade plants from time to time to prevent them from becoming bald
- just cut back carefully
Tips
Combine the cinnamon with decorative but fragrance-poor shrubs and flowers, otherwise you might quickly be "fed up" with your beautiful garden.
