Cut the honeysuckle after flowering

Many gardeners cut those Honeysuckle back immediately after flowering at the beginning of June. By pruning, almost all withered flowers and thus future berries are removed.

A pruning in summer only makes sense if none of the majority poisonous berries should ripen on the bushes.

The honeysuckle is propagated using sinkers or cuttings. Propagation via cuttings is best done in late summer.

Tips

Honeysuckles hardly need any care other than cutting. They cannot tolerate the soil drying out completely. Mulching The soil under the bushes to keep the soil moist and prevent weeds from emerging.
