In contrast to us humans, trees do not go to sleep when it comes to leaf shedding. Night owls shouldn't expect to find completely cleaned sidewalks in the late evening or early morning hours. During the day you are obliged to sweep leaves at the following times:

  • weekdays from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • at the weekend from 9 a.m.

Aids

Leaves with the broom sweep is quite tedious. However, limited times apply to the use of a leaf blower:

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

However, if you have a low-noise device, you can use it at normal times. Noiseless leaf blowers are marked accordingly.

Under no circumstances should you leave your swept up leaves in the street gulli dispose. At the latest with the next heavy rain, the return coach threatens. Since the leaves flood the streets, it is advisable not only to free the sidewalks from the leaves, but also to clean the manhole every now and then, as far as you can.

In the high season, many municipalities set up extra containers for foliage disposal.

Individual rules

With regard to the time and the intensity of cleaning, different regulations apply in some municipalities. The best way to find out more is on the homepage or by phone. Sometimes you are even obliged to clear the leaves from the pavement as well as the road.
As a tenant, the responsibility for leaf disposal should be regulated in writing in the rental agreement. With a little luck, the local sweeping office will take care of the removal itself.
