Location and directions:

Bad Muskau is located in the Neisse flood plain, right on the Polish border. The park picturesquely surrounds the town with its 4,000 inhabitants. If you travel by car, you will find a sufficient number of chargeable parking spaces at the Neißedamm. From here the way to the landscape park is well signposted.

The Muskauer Park is an ideal destination for bike tours, as you can reach it via several supraregional bike paths along the Neisse.

If you would like to travel by train, first drive to Weißwasser, from where you can take a regional bus (bus line 250) to Bad Muskau. It is only a few steps to the park from the “Kirchplatz” stop. Alternatively, you can use the forest railway from April to October.

Description:

About a third of the approximately 830 hectare landscape park is on German territory. The greater part of the park is located east of the Neisse on the Polish side. It is divided into several differently structured areas that are linked by curved paths and visual axes. The Neisse with its natural course and an artificially created side arm, called "Hermannsneiße", fit wonderfully into the complex.

The old castle with tropical and cavalier house, the bathing and mountain park and the orangery are among the visitor magnets. The Polish part of the park can be reached via the historic English bridge, which was destroyed and rebuilt several times. Treat yourself to a Fürst-Pückler “Lody”, an ice cream specialty named after the Prince.

Spending the night on the spacious area is a special experience. In some buildings there are lovingly furnished holiday apartments in which you can move into. If you do not want to cook yourself, you can dine in one of the restaurants integrated in the park and let the beauty of the park landscape take its effect on you.

Tips

The Muskauer Park is a landscape gardening total work of art, the landscapes of which are well thought out. It is worth booking one of the regular guided tours with expert explanations.
