Of the Kohlrabithat most people know from the supermarket, has the typical light green color. However, there are also lesser-known varieties with a different standard shape and color. The taste and shelf life, as well as the amount harvested, do not really change in these varieties, but they are an eye-catcher. In general, many of the established strains are of good texture and taste. Even with a very late harvest, lignification is hardly to be expected.

- giant: slow in growth; Harvest time starts from August; the name suggests it giant, can achieve tuber weights of up to 5.5 kilos; do not harvest too late otherwise the meat will be very woody and hardly edible; Harvested at the right time, the tubers are tender and can be stored for a long time.
