When are columbine seeds ready for harvest?

Once your columbine withered you can carefully cut off the fruit pods and shake them out lightly over a smooth surface, such as a piece of paper. The small, black seeds fall out straight away. By the time you sow the seeds in spring, you should plant them at a dry, dark place store. Don't forget to label your seeds so you can identify them correctly next year.
When do I sow the seeds of the columbine?
The best time to sow the columbine seeds is between April and May. You shouldn't wait any longer than that, otherwise the temperatures will get too warm. The seeds need a short cold stimulus to start germinating.

Buy columbine seeds instead of harvesting them
If you don't already have columbines in your garden to take the seeds from, you can get them from a garden center. Columbines can usually be found there from February.
