Olive herb is amazingly robust
That Holy herb, is surprisingly robust despite its origins. It gets along well with the cold planted out it can even survive frost. But when the thermometer drops well below zero, it becomes critical for this herb too.

Protective measures in the bed
If you live in a rough area of the country, or if a severe winter has come, the olive herb needs your support so that it does not freeze to death. Even if it takes root in an exposed location, it should be given winter protection:
- Cover with brushwood or fir branches
- Bast mats offer even more protection
Protect potted plants
No matter where you have your home in this country, an olive herb in a pot must always be well protected from frost.
- Location in autumn, if applicable switch
- the shrub must be protected
- z. B. on a house wall
- Wrap the pot with fleece, cardboard, jute or bubble wrap
- Cover the soil with leaves or brushwood
Play it safe
If you want to offer a pot olive herb the safest hibernation, then share your home with it. Give it a cool and bright room by spring. The plant doesn't ask much of you in winter quarters care away. Pour a little water every now and then to keep the soil from drying out completely.
Tips
Even in winter quarters you may occasionally have a few Cut off branchesto season your food with it. If you have to cut back the plant a lot because space is limited, you can use the edible greenery for later use freeze.
