How to speed up the rotting process

Why does compost have to be turned over?

If the rotting process stops, for example because the microbiotic life in the pothole came to a standstill due to frost, nothing occurs humus more. The reasons for stopping composting, however, are not only to be found in the weather conditions.

Causes can also be:

• Too high or low moisture content in the material,
• Lack of oxygen,
• Infestation with fungi.

By moving the compost, these disturbances can be eliminated and the plant material begins to decompose again.

Shifting compost: that's how it works

The best time to do this work is a dry spring day. Have the following tools ready:

• Digging fork,
• Shovel,
• free compost rent,
• Compost sieve.

Method:

1. Carry out the ripe compost and pass it through a compost sieve. You can do this with a frame that you come with Rabbit wire cover, easily build it yourself.
2. Work your way through the compost heap from top to bottom and pour the clot onto the sieve.
3. The finished natural fertilizer falls through the holes and can be put aside. Plant material that has not yet been composted is included in the free rent.
4. Read stones and branches while moving. You can shred the latter and put it back on the compost.
5. Layer the rot in a targeted manner. Coarse material comes down, then the half-rotten plants of the old compost come on top. Sprinkle something Compost accelerator or fully ripe natural fertilizer over it. A little Rock flour(€ 12.33 at Amazon *) prevents fungal attack.
6. Maintain the compost and give it a few watering cans from time to time when it is dry. This accelerates the rotting process and finely crumbly, pleasantly scented fertilizer is formed by autumn.
