Is it necessary to water a beech hedge?

Beech hedges do not tolerate severe drought or waterlogging. Young hedges in particular need to be watered regularly. This is usually no longer necessary later. Only in very dry times should you give older hedges a little water so that they do not dry out and turn brown.

Do beech hedges need fertilizer?

Fertilize is only necessary for young hedges from the second year. Older beeches are self-sufficient.

Simply leave the fallen leaves under the hedge. The leaves decompose and release many nutrients.

Can beech hedges be transplanted?

You can try it on a beech hedge that is still very young. However, many of the trees will die afterwards.
