How is pouring?

Convertible florets are sensitive to calcareous water, so only use stale or rainwater. Water is always poured when the top centimeters of the potting soil feel dry. Excess irrigation water is poured away because the rose, like many other plants, is extremely sensitive to waterlogging. On very hot days, it is better to water twice with a not too large amount of water than once more abundantly.

The fertilization

In order for the convertible rose to bloom profusely, it needs sufficient nutrients. Fertilized becomes once a month after hibernation until the first buds are formed, then every 14 days. Commercially available bloom fertilizers that you administer in the dosage indicated on the packaging are well suited. Avoid overdosing, because the plant is extremely sensitive to this.

Cut back always wear gloves. The cut is as follows:

  • After the winter rest, a maintenance pruning is carried out in which all branches are severely shortened. Since convertible florets only develop numerous flowers on the young shoots, this one is indispensable. It is advisable to cut the shoot length at least in half. Even a taper cut to the width of a hand is well tolerated.
  • During the entire flowering period, everything that has withered is cut out regularly. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, the plant produces more new flowers. Second, the formation of the seeds in which the concentration of poison is highest is prevented.

How often do you repot?

Whenever the roots start to grow out of the drain hole, it's time to do that Repot convertible florets. Choose a planter that is one or two sizes larger than the old one. The tub shouldn't offer any more space, because the convertible rose then tends to form more root mass than leaves and flowers.

What pests and diseases threaten

Convertible florets are quite susceptible to being infested with the whitefly. Yellow panels or control with hatching creatures of the genus Encarsia Formosa have proven effective here.

Occasionally the rose flower is attacked by aphids. The pests can be combated well by spraying them with a soap solution, tea tree oil or commercially available insecticides.

The wintering

The warmth-loving convertible florets do not get sub-zero temperatures at all. As soon as the first frost threatens, the ornamental plant has to be indoors overwintered will. Place the plant in a bright place where night temperatures do not drop below five degrees. Daily temperatures of ten degrees should not be exceeded during the winter rest.

Tips

Because of the toxicity of all parts of the plant, you should make sure that no other people or children come into contact with the clippings when disposing of them.
