Planting flower boxes in autumn - this is how it works

So that your tulips bloom punctually in spring, the flower bulbs move into position in autumn Flower box.(€ 149.00 at Amazon *) Anyone can be used as a substrate Potting soil in question that with some handfuls of perlite or Lava granules(€ 14.00 at Amazon *) gets more permeability. Between mid-October and early December, plant tulips on the balcony according to this scheme:

  • Create a water-bearing drainage on the bottom of the box made of pebbles, potsherds or chippings

You can now plant small tulip bulbs, such as dwarf or wild varieties, on this upper layer of soil. Fill in potting soil again, press everything down with your hands and water. In contrast to planting

in the garden, you can arrange the onions close together without the skins touching each other.

The right location on the balcony
