Why does it have to be poured in a balanced way?
In order for flowers to bloom abundantly and vegetables to stay healthy, they need regular watering. If they are too wet, fungi and viruses have an easy time of it and there is a risk of root rot. If, on the other hand, the plants are too dry, they react by shedding their leaves and the plants become susceptible to pest infestation and diseases promoted by drought.

How is pouring?
Proper irrigation is not only important in hot summers to save water:
- If you water on the ground, the liquid reaches the root area directly. In addition, less of the precious liquid evaporates.
- Do not water over the plants. Sensitive plants such as kohlrabi or tomatoes could burst open. There is also a risk of sunburn, because the water droplets act like burning glasses when exposed to sunlight.
- Preferably water in the morning, this will keep snails and mushrooms away.
Rainwater: Lime-free and free
Even if watering with the hose is a little easier, you should use rainwater if possible. It has the ideal pH and is free. In the garden you can do it in one Rain barrel Catch that is fed from the downpipe.
Automatic irrigation systems: time and water saving
The system of these irrigation systems is very simple: a pressure reducer is connected to the tap or a cistern with a pump. From there, small hoses with droppers or sprayers lead directly to the plants. Using connecting pieces, these can be laid individually and adapted to the garden design. Depending on the design, the amount of water exiting the openings can even be regulated individually.
Irrigation computers installed between the tap and the supply line are particularly convenient, since they automatically control when and how much water flows. A sensor measures the moisture in the soil and controls the time during which watering takes place via an irrigation clock.
Tips
Please make sure that the rain barrel does not become a trap for insects and small organisms. Cover the container or at least put a large branch in it, so that the crawfish can escape. In addition, the vessel should be covered so that it is childproof.
