Evergreen plants for a privacy hedge

The crucial criterion of an evergreen Privacy hedge is the fact that this offers a constant privacy screen all year round and does not become transparent through a fall of leaves in autumn. That is why the beeches used for planting hedges are usually included in this category, although their leaves turn brown in autumn. As with some privet species, however, the leaves remain on the branches until spring Strictly speaking, these are not really evergreen, but they are still sufficient until new shoots have emerged opaque. In contrast, the following trees and shrubs are actually green all year round for planting one green privacy screen:

  • Spruce trees
  • Subspecies of the Thuja occidentalis
  • Yew trees
  • Cherry laurel
  • bamboo
  • ilex
